Turkish translation of *Explaining Postmodernism* in the works

I’m please to announce that there will be a Turkish translation of Explaining Postmodernism: Skepticism and Socialism from Rousseau to Foucault. The publisher is The Kitap Yayinlari in Istanbul, and publication will likely be in late 2024.

As there are an estimated 100 million speakers of Turkish, I am pleased that my book will be available to them.

  1. Wow, just a few weeks ago I called on my blog for an Urdu translation of the book, and already I’m seeing progress toward wish-fulfillment: a Hindi translation. Close enough! So my next blog post will be a request for one million tax free dollars. I assume that I’ll be able to come back here within three weeks and cash in on a good chunk of that. The miracle of the Internet!

    Seriously, it’s extraordinary news.

    Hi friends
I am presently on the job of translating this book into Urdu and some publishers from India and Pakistan are keenly interested to publish it.
I expect in near future it will be in the hands of thousands of students and scholars across the Urdu world.
I am highly thankful to Professor Hicks for allowing me to translate this important book on postmodernism into Urdu.

  3. Hi.
The translation work is complete and the script has been sent to publishers in India and Pakistan.
I hope that the book will hit the stalls in the next month.
However I want to know about the progress of Hindi translation of the book.

  4. Wonderful news, Professor Azad. I’ll contact Dr. Kaptan Singh about the status of the Hindi translation. I’ve not had an update for a couple of years on that project.
