Racial minorities vs. Critical Race Theory

“The idea that America is fundamentally flawed because some people have a [racist] problem in their minds, that’s a recipe to keep you in poverty and unhappiness for the rest of your life,” said Juan Saldivar, a father of a Southlake student, to explain his opposition to restructuring Southlake schools around ‘systemic racism.’ “My parents always told me it doesn’t matter whether people like you, it matters whether the law protects you, and it does.”

And reader C.L. forwards these two anecdotes:

“I had a Uber ride from a gentleman from Ghana. He taught in China for six years and for much of the ride, unprompted, he was explaining how he loved being in America because there is one set of laws for everyone.”

Further:

“Then another cab ride home from a gentleman from Africa (he didn’t mention where) who had lived in Seattle since 1996. Again unprompted he went into how racism is not the problem here in the USA. Here the problem is not knowing how to do math.”

Advocates of CRT are philosophically (and often psychologically) disturbed individuals, and it’s worth reminding ourselves that the great majority of us are normal and healthy non-racists.

  1. These anecdotes underscore the greatest argument against anti-American sentiments, in that the modern US with all its problems is still better than anything that has ever developed in history. Much appreciated.

  2. CRT is designed just to create division and chaos. Its goal is to kindle resentment, anger, hatred, and ultimately violence. It will never bring justice, fairness, nor prosperity to anyone. It must be stopped so healing, mutual cooperation, and a better future can arise.
