Anti-liberals — Left and Right — versus the Kochs

Leftists have long been apoplectic about Koch money on campus, especially when used to support discussions of free-market principles. Now they are strange bedfellows with the Trump right-wing, which also attacks free markets, especially on immigration and trade.

Here’s Donald Trump dissing Charles and David Koch:

“‘I never sought their support because I don’t need their money or bad ideas.’ The President’s former and once-again political strategist Steve Bannon piled on with a threat to Republicans on CNBC that if ‘you take Koch money, it’s going to be toxic. We are going to let people know that if you take Koch money there’s a punishment.'” (The Wall Street Journal)

I anticipate a summit meeting with Trump-Bannon and UnKoch MY Campus to share notes on anti-Koch strategies. Though maybe they’re not such strange bedfellows, as anti-liberalism has always united far Left and far Right, however much they disagree over specifics.
