Open vs. Closed Objectivism: Stephen Hicks & Craig Biddle Debate

Stephen Hicks heads to Belgrade, April 10-13th to speak at Ayn Rand Center Europe’s New Intellectuals Conference 2023. He’ll take the stage with Craig Biddle, Director of Education at The Objective Standard Institute, to debate: Is Objectivism a “Closed System” or an “Open System”?

‍DESCRIPTION:

What is Objectivism? Is it limited to the philosophic ideas that Ayn Rand identified in her lifetime? Or is it open to revisions, additions, or subtractions—and, with such revisions, still properly called Objectivism? That issue concerns one of the three pillars of Open Objectivism, advanced by The Atlas Society, which also embraces:

1) A commitment to reasoned, non-dogmatic discussion and debate, and

2) A policy of benevolence toward others, including fellow-travelers and critics.

This to-be-recorded event is a breakthrough opportunity to explore Rand’s philosophy and its implications from different points of view.
