Lord Haw Haw’s two great hates

His real name was William Joyce, and he broadcasted National Socialist propaganda to an English audience. In Berlin during in the early years of World War Two, the American correspondent William Shirer met Haw-Haw and said this of him:

“I should say that he has two complexes which have landed him in his present notorious position. He has a titanic hatred for Jews and an equally titanic one for capitalists.”

After the war, the British executed Joyce for treason. Shirer went on to write The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.
