“Go back to the ovens!” shouted at Jews at a university in Canada, in the Toronto borough in which I was born. Quick thoughts:
1. Most Canadians are great people and will be appalled at this sub-human display.
2. The hostility was so bad that politicians from *both* sides of the major divide in Canadian politics are calling for investigations.
3. This is a government university, so the likelihood of more politicization and legally top-down imposed solutions increases.
4. Let’s not forget which portion of the political spectrum has dominated university policy for two generations now. That dysfunctional approach to “anti-discrimination,” “diversity,” and “tolerance” breed their opposites. Ideas have consequences.
