    I’m right there with you! The Argument sketch is the best thing Monty Python ever did! I remember hearing it on radio for the first time back in the 70s and absolutely fell in love with it. I almost have the whole thing committed to memory now! And you are right about the philosophical underpinnings. I also love the early comedy of Steve Martin, who also based a lot of it on his philosophical studies.

    You call that an argument? I’ve had better arguments with a stump. Highly recommend stumps, actually. Very profound. Never get tired. Some of my best moments. Can’t actually say triumphs, but close.

    I will grant that this argument didn’t settle anything or even make one point. High marks there. Good passion. But lacks the vacuousness of the best, I’d argue. (“argue” . . . get it?)
