Old- and new-fashioned “Colored Only, No Whites Allowed”

Both of these signs are repulsive. (Click to enlarge.)

Similarities between the two movements: (a) People are to be kept separate based on color, and (b) admonishing signs are needed to remind and keep people in their place.

Differences between the two movements: (c) In one case, the fear is that one color will be tainted by contact with the other, and (d) In the other, the fear is that one color will be exploited by contact with the other.

500 years into the modern world, and morally stunted racialists are still with us. From “Colored only” to “People of color only” — that’s not much of an advance. Sigh.
