What does Sartre mean by “abandonment,” and his claim that all humans are “condemned to be free”
we are abandoned, in a sense, because there is no god. no objective/spiritual source to give meaning to our lives. we are condemned to be free because we have no other choice but to choose: even if we choose not to choose. we as humans are necessarily free because we are alone.
