Philosophy and Film Series: Crimes and Misdemeanors

crimes-poster-500-pxThe Philosophy and Film Series presents Woody Allen’s Crimes and Misdemeanors, starring Martin Landau, Woody Allen, Mia Farrow, Alan Alda, and Anjelica Houston. My colleagues Shawn Klein and Matt Flamm will host a screening of the film and a discussion of its philosophical themes.

Date and Time: November 8, screening at 6 p.m. and discussion at 8 p.m.
Place: Peterson Auditorium, Starr Science Building, Rockford College.
All who are interested are welcome to attend. Co-sponsored by the Department of Philosophy and the Center for Ethics and Entrepreneurship.

I am only an occasional fan of Woody Allen’s films, but when I teach Contemporary European Philosophy [pdf], we watch and discuss Crimes and Misdemeanors as a textbook Existentialist film.

Previously: Philosophy and Film Series: Blade Runner.
